I got my level 1 freedive certification here and it’s a great springs to dive in!! Clean freshwater and good visibility, given that the scuba divers don’t stir it up too much at the bottom! It was foggy in the morning but then cleared up and was beautifully sunny later in the day. The facility had great clean bathrooms and a gear rinsing station but I just wish they had hot showers. The water can get pretty cold if you’re not moving around that much, but otherwise it felt great!
This state park is fairly new and we'll maintained. They did a great job making it accessible to those with disabilities. The ramp seemed excessively long but it serves the purpose.
The spring is well maintained and they have added a buoy line across the spring cut at the rivers edge to keep the boats out. Which also protects remnants of the Civil War boat. By far my favorite part of this spring! The history that you can literally see right infron of you is amazing! The second coolest is the dozens of turtles that call this spring home! I have never seen this many turtles is the wild and so up close. The scuba diving here is good for beginners, very easy journey down to the spring at 75ish feet. All dependent on the rivers level. Not much to see but a easy amd relaxing dive.
#TroySprings is a beautiful spring. 70 ft deep. A great location spot for #scubadiving and swimming.
Unfortunately the rains from Georgia came down the Suwanee River. And flooded all the #springs along the River. Still beautiful even when The water is brown.
A very beautiful & we'll cared for, state park. We met Ginger Nichols the person in charge, she is wonderful to talk to & loves Florida & especially the state parks she has worked at. She could spend days sharing the beauty & her interests in many many of Florida state parks.
Highly recommend putting this park on your "must visit" list.
Absolutely gorgeous, a short walk down a zigzag incline with very few places to set stuff down by the water. But, there are several grills and picnic tables near the parking lot.
The water is so deep and beautiful, very large area to swim. We brought goggles and pool noodles to be able to comfortably enjoy the entire space. There's even a sunken ship to see down in the cold water!
Spring is currently flooded and closed for swimming so that was a bummer but we know its just that time of year. We did the trail instead and it was a beautiful about .9 mile hike. Bring closed shoes as its muddy from recent rain and bug spray
Great Place very nice park. They have very clean restrooms. Park is very well kept. Trails well maintained. If you’re in the area stop in and take a look at one of the BEST parks in Florida
Confederate ship was really a few pieces of indicernible wood at the bottom of a small grotto that was about 70'. Long walk down. We had higher expectations. Quick dive around a small deep pool. Bathrooms were clean/nice, picnic tables were plentiful and in good shape. Main steps down to water were broken and blocked off and secondary path wasn't as easy to get in from.
